Our Values
Nurturing Compassion, Honoring Dignity: Our Values, Your Assurance.

Our Organisation Ethos and Values
We consider it our duty not only to provide quality services within the community, but to also respect, preserve and improve the lives of the people we look after. We are committed to providing an all-inclusive service that is diversified and does not discriminate against culture, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status & maternity which is the basis of our organisation ethos.
Person-Centred-Approach
We do not use a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach to meeting Service Users’ needs. We treat our clients as individuals with personal choices and not as a group. Through comprehensive needs/risk/capacity assessments, we can provide care/support that maximises dignity, independence, choice, and control. Where restrictions are imposed, including through Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), we act in the least restrictive manner possible, using positive behaviour support.

Service User Involvement
At U in Mind Care, we are committed to upholding the principles of the Care Act 2014, which encourages caregivers to take a person-centred approach when safeguarding vulnerable adults. We place each Service User’s wellbeing and needs at the forefront of their care/support by directly involving them and nominated persons (those who can aid best-interest decision-making) in the design/development of their service.
Partnership Working
At U in Mind Care we understand that through close partnership working with our Service Users, their family and health/social care and other professionals, we can improve wellbeing and prevent/reduce/delay the escalation of our clients’ needs by delivering care/support as and when it is needed.

Empowerment
By engaging Service Users from the point of assessment and throughout care delivery, we empower them to identify what is important to them and what they want to achieve with our input/the input of others. Roles/responsibilities in relation to meeting Service Users’ needs are defined in individualised Care and Support Plans.
Communication
At U in Mind Care we consider communication to be one of the most important values in maintaining a healthy relationship between our Care Workers and our Service Users. Pivotal to our communication strategy, is keeping our Service Users, their families and professionals informed about any changes regarding the support we provide.

Safeguarding
Our safeguarding approach is focussed on protecting our service users’ health, well-being, and human rights by enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. Safeguarding is an integral part of the support we provide daily, and this is a joint responsibility involving the service users, their families and other professionals involved.
Equal Opportunities
- Our staff and service users have the right to practise their beliefs, religion, or culture without constraint by restrictive or discriminatory practice.
- Complaints of discriminatory practice will be thoroughly investigated, and the results of the investigation made known to the complainant.

Social Value
U in Mind Care is fully committed to the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, conscious of the mass of benefits to the Service User across the spectrum of community and independent development. We are committed to supporting our customers and families, being a good employer and supporting our local communities. We buy from other local businesses where possible, provide employment for local people and work in partnership with a wide range of community groups and organisations.
